Target Audience:

Aimed at those with more than two-years experience in a management role.

Programme Aim:

To identify, learn, practise and apply the Knowledge, Skills and Attitude necessary for participants to become more effective managers

Programme Objectives:

At the end of the programme participants will be better able to:

  • Assess their strengths and development needs in relation to their management of others through upward feedback from their team
  • Be aware of their own working style, others styles and how to use these differences to add value
  • Understand the stages and dynamics of team development
  • Manage and develop traditional/project/remote teams
  • Manage an individuals' development by effective goal setting, coaching, feedback and review
  • Exercise leadership skills to give the bigger picture and a vision to which others feel compelled
  • Communicate clearly and confidently for change and then manage others to make that change and realise the benefits.
  • Handle difficult situations with others by using a counselling approach to performance problems.
  • Know their boundaries and when to refer when managing difficult situations with others
  • Make Action Plans to develop themselves and their teams

Prework: Participants are asked to identify between 3-5 team members that can complete a 'Management Skills Questionnaire'. The feedback is collated and discussed with participants during the programme.
