• Understand the escalation triangle model for dealing with performance issues.
• Identify performance problems early and understand the provenance of difficulties.
• Be assertive and manage emotions in difficult situations to achieve future oriented outcomes and plans.
• Be aware, know when and how to use a counseling/coaching approach to performance problems.
• Action plan, review and coach individuals for resolution of performance problems.
