- Identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in themselves and others.
- Set SMART objectives and then plan, control, monitor and evaluate workflows for continuous improvement.
- Balance priorities between the task, the individuals in their charge and the overall team's development so that whenever possible those 3 things are taking place simultaneously.
- Understand the stages of team development.
- Promote team working to achieve synergies.
- Adjust their Management style to suit the development level of the individuals and team in their charge.
- Delegate for their own and others' effectiveness.
- Appreciate that motivation accounts for up to 50% of people's performance and know how to create a motivational climate to tap into that potential.
- Understand the origins of behaviour and how we can change inappropriate behaviour.
- Communicate more effectively and assertively (when necessary) to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Develop Action plans at four levels: for themselves, their team, their individuals and their organisation
